Testing the Water

One of the most important aspects of hot tub maintenance is testing the water. You should test your water at least once a week and more often if you use your hot tub on a daily basis. Testing the water will help you maintain the proper pH levels and keep your Spa Max unit clean by knowing which chemicals to add. Depending on what the test strip detects, you may have to add additional chemicals. Be sure to purchase approved hot tub strips that test for a wide range of chemicals such as chlorine and bromine.

Cleaning the Filter

Another important maintenance task is cleaning the filter. Depending on how often you use your hot tub, you may need to clean your filter once a month or more. When cleaning your filter, be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully. We recommend rinsing the filter once a week and deep cleaning every month or so to keep your filter free of grime and bacteria. Use a hot tub cleaning solution and thoroughly clean each part of the filter to remove any build-up.

Adding Chemicals

In order to keep your Spa Max unit running smoothly, you will need to add chemicals on a regular basis. Chemicals help maintain the proper pH levels in your hot tub and keep the water clean. Cleaning the Spa Itself

In addition to the above maintenance tasks, you will also need to clean your Spa Max unit itself on a regular basis. This includes wiping down the interior and exterior surfaces of your Spa Max unit. Be sure to use a non-abrasive cleaner when cleaning to avoid damage. We recommend draining your hot tub about three to four times a year so you can scrub and rinse every surface.

Hot tubs require proper maintenance to keep them clean and in good condition. However, maintenance doesn’t have to be a challenge. With proper cleaning products and regular up-keep, your hot tub can stay clean and in tip-top shape for years to come.
