Bullfrog Spas and Hot Tub Etiquette

Inner-Page-Hero

If you have recently been invited to a hot tub party, get ready for a ton of fun. Spa gatherings are a unique social gathering and just as with any type of party, etiquette should be practiced. After all, the last thing you want to do is make a fool of yourself at the party.

There are some of you who probably think they know how to act at a hot tub party, but might find themselves in a situation in which they have no idea how to react or what to say. For example, what to do when somebody purposefully splashes you with water while in the hot tub.

Just so you know, it is not very polite to start a water fight in the hot tub. This can change, of course, if the host is the one who is challenging you.

Spa Max, your source for Bullfrog Spas, offers you hot tub etiquette.

Rinse Off

Rinse off before you dive into the hot tub. Residues from bath products, deodorants and body lotions tend to form an unsightly film on the surface of the water in the hot tub. This isn’t cool. If you don’t know if there will be a way to rinse off at the party, then rinse off at home before to go.

This also applies to any substances you might have in your swimwear. Rinse tour trucks or bathing suit in water before putting them on and entering the hot tub.

Dress Code

Hopefully, there will be a note about dress code when you are invited to the hot tub party. If the host states that everybody is to wear a swimsuit, then you must oblige. If a swimsuit is optional, then hop in sans swimsuit should you feel obliged to do so.

However, you must respect the boundaries of others while soaking nude in the hot tub. And couples should refrain from any sort of intimate contact in the company of others. Also, don’t say or do anything that will embarrass other guests.

Mind the Volume

People like to sit in the hot tub and relax, they don’t want to hear you yelling above the noise of the music and water jets. Loud conversation can be annoying, so keep the volume down and be wary of others around you.

Share the Fun

If there are more people than hot tub space at the party, don’t Bogart a spot in the tub for very long. It is polite to rotate in and out of the tub so others have a chance to enjoy it.

Towel Off

When you do exit the hot tub, don’t forget to dry yourself off with a towel. Not only do you not want to drip water all over the place, it is dangerous to walk as the floor surface becomes slippery when wet.

BYOT

If it isn’t stated in the invitation, you should ask the host if towels will be provided. If so, that’s great, but if not, then don’t forget to bring one for yourself.

Ask Before Shooting

You might think sitting in the hot tub is the perfect opportunity for a picture. Others will not think this is a good idea. Before whipping out your iPhone and snapping random pictures, ask people if they want to have their picture taken. Some may not mind you taking their picture but will ask you to refrain from posting it to any social media site.

Open Cuts and Sores

If you have an open cut or sore, it is best if you just stay out of the hot tub.

It is also bad manners to ask about other people’s birthmarks, scars and other skin blemishes they may have.

Electronics

Electronics and water just don’t mix, so don’t bring your cell phone in the hot tub with you.

Pets

Pets may have been invited to the party, but definitely not to play in the hot tub. Besides being gross, pets in the hot tub is dangerous to the pet and pet hair will clog up the system.
