Namaste

We are sure that at some point, you may have considered doing yoga. It is a thought that has crossed everyone’s mind at some point. But for most of you, there was always a reason why you never followed through with the dream. Perhaps it’s because you think you look rather silly in yoga pants or maybe you are a little self-conscious about engaging in a downward dog pose among others in a yoga class. Everybody has heard horror stories about getting hurt attempting certain poses or losing bodily function while contorting your body into a pretzel shape while trying to relax doing a breathing exercise. In can be an embarrassing venture.

But what if we were to tell you that you can do yoga right from the comfort of your own hot tub? That might change your mind about trying yoga.

Yoga is well-known for its health benefits and the fact it relieves stress. When you couple this with the benefits of soaking in a hot tub, it’s like discovering you have a winning lottery ticket. On its own, yoga increases flexibility and strengthens muscles. When you practice yoga in your hot tub, you reap those benefits while enjoying relaxation through hot water.

Spa Max, your hot tub dealer in Corona, offers the benefits of practicing yoga in your hot tub.

Great for Older Folks

As we age, many of you will find it more difficult to stretch, bend and balance as it is associated with yoga. But when you add in the buoyancy of hot water, those yoga poses once again become a reality. The hot water will also help you keep limber throughout your yoga session. The hot water will also help prevent the tired and achy muscles sometimes associated with yoga.

Privacy

For those who feel too self-conscious to practice yoga in a studio with a group of people, hot tub yoga is perfect for you. Hot tub yoga takes place, well, in your hot tub. If you want to partner up with a friend or family member, that’s fine. If not, then you can do your yoga all on your own.

Warm Those Joints

Even very active adults and athletes can benefit from practicing hot tub yoga. Exercising while in the hot tub warms muscles, joints and ligaments and reduces the risk of injury.

Stress Management

When you combine the stress relief of yoga and the stress relief of soaking in a hot tub, hot tub yoga will relieve stress after even the worst days at work. Seriously, no matter how bad your day was, hot tub yoga will have you feeling better to be sure.

Here are a few yoga poses you can try in your hot tub.

Half Boat Pose

Sit on the seat in your hot tub and keep your back straight, put your hands on the seat to maintain your balance. Half-bend your legs to engage your abdominal muscles and lift them up while keeping them parallel to the surface of the water.

Breakwater Pose

Stand up in your hot tub with your feet hips width apart. Stretch your arm out in front of you and turn your torso to the right. Repeat the move, only going left this time.

Wave Pose

Stand up in your hot tub with your feet at shoulder width. Lift your left arm straight up and kick out your left hip. This will have you leaning to your right. Repeat the move on the right side.

Half Moon Pose

Stand up straight in the middle of your hot tub with your hands against your lower back. Slowly and carefully arch your back while focusing on your chest. Press your elbows together, but don’t tilt your head back too far.

Pelican Pose

Stand in the middle of your hot tub with your knees slightly bent. Wrap your left leg around your right leg. Put your arms on your sides and then bend them in a 90-degree angle up and over your head. Repeat the process with your right leg wrapped over your left leg.

As you can see, hot tub yoga is as fun as it is beneficial. But you can’t practice hot tub yoga without a hot tub. So stop by Spa Max and get a great deal on a hot tub.
